Our Mission

Boundless Physical Therapy and Sports Performance is committed to keeping individuals active and feeling confident in their sport by proactively addressing movement dysfunctions through evidence-based rehabilitation and sports performance principles.

We aim to grow our business by delivering exceptional patient care and customer service to help athletes of all ages succeed while having fun and striving for excellence in everything we do.

Our Story

Phil founded Boundless Physical Therapy & Sports Performance following his growing frustration with the constraints imposed by the traditional healthcare model; outpatient clinics sacrificing the quality of care to increase patient volume (typically 2-4 patients per hour) due to declining insurance reimbursement rates.

His goal of empowering individuals to manage and progress their own recovery through pain neuroscience education (PNE) with strength and conditioning principles help achieve better results with fewer visits.

He understands each case presents unique challenges specific to a person’s day-to-day routines regardless of the condition or diagnosis; there is no cookie-cutter approach to treating the same type of injury or pathology.

Phil Yoon

Dr. Phil Yoon earned a Bachelor of Science in Physiology from the University of Arizona in 2012, and a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from the University of Colorado – Anschutz Medical Campus in 2017. His certifications include strength and conditioning (CSCS), vestibular rehabilitation (Cert. VRS), and dry needling (Cert. DN). In his career, he has mainly worked in an outpatient setting serving a patient population ranging from pediatrics to professional athletes dealing with orthopedic (including post-operative) and sports rehabilitation.

In addition, he works in the acute rehabilitation setting working with individuals primarily consisting of neurological conditions. The unique presentation of each patient – regardless of two individuals sharing the same diagnosis – further broadens his perspective of how to treat the human body. As a vestibular rehabilitation specialist, he enjoys helping individuals suffering from vertigo (as this can be common following a concussion, car accident, or stroke) as well as training different types of balance impairments. Some of the manual therapy techniques he utilizes include dry needling, spinal and joint manipulations, instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM), and cupping.

Phil is the physical therapy consultant and strength & conditioning coach for Alliance Scottsdale/Ximenes BJJ and Judo. He has 15+ years of experience in various types of martial arts, including Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, and Tang Soo Do. Outside of martial arts, he enjoys snowboarding, mountain biking, and camping with his beautiful wife and two dogs. His history of multiple orthopedic injuries allows him to better relate with his patients and their symptoms. He enjoys helping individuals meet the physical demands of their respective sport as well as addressing the psyche that’s required to perform at an optimal level. Phil believes that all people – regardless of age or activity level – are athletes and should be treated as such, deserving individualized, patient-centered care.
